The Ocean Rowing Society (ORS) was founded in San Francisco in1983 by Kenneth Crutchlow and Pete Bird.
The society are the verifying and recording authority for ocean rows wherever they are undertaken. They also give support and advice to ocean rowers. Registered in London in 1997, they held the first Ocean rowing regatta in January this year. In conjunction with Woodvale events they will be staging an Atlantic rowing race in Autumn 2005.
Kenneth Crutchlow is no stranger to adventure, in 1974 he swam from Alcatraz to San Francisco at Christmas time, and the following year he ran across Death Valley in August. The temperature was a mere 130 degrees. A full list of his impressive achievement can be found in the about ussection of the Ocean Rowing Society (ORS) web site. |
The Ocean Rowing Society web site, www.oceanrowing.com, is an excellent resource for anyone wishing to learn more about ocean rowing, ocean rowing history, ocean rowing boats, ocean rowers and ocean rowing races and regattas. In fact, everything you need to know about ocean rowing!

Tiny is very grateful for the help and advice he continues to receive from the Ocean Rowing Society (ORS) and from Ocean Rowers who have been helping in every aspect of the row.
