Swayzee Park
Andy Cook set up Swayzee Park in the back garden of his terraced house in Norwich for the Euro 2004 finals in Portugal.
The venue was a scaffold construction 40-seater stadium facing a large television screen, and they invited donations to our cause. The Cooks raised a total of £1,222 and had a brush with UEFA's lawyers for their trouble. [ + ]
All was amicably resolved however and Andy and his brothers John and Tony continued to raise funds for Tiny's Atlantic Row and the Davenport Trust.

The Sportspark are at the University of East Anglia and have an olympic size pool and a dazzling array of sports facilities. The staff are very friendly and know their stuff. [ + ]

Phil's Fiats
Phil took the Womble, my ocean rowing boat, into his garage (having turned out two Fiats which were under his expert care, to make space) and in a few days transformed her with the magnificent paint job you see today. All work was kindly donated to the cause.

Colin and Marge Keatley from the Fat Cat pub in Norwich made a substantial cash donation which will help to buy vital safety equipment for my Atlantic row.
The couple run the most successful real ale pub in the region which has recently been voted CAMRA Regional Pub of the Year 2004, for the second time in six years. The last time the Fat Cat won this award they went on to win the Super-Regional award and then became National Pub of the Year and has many other awards to its name.
Colin and Marge have always been good friends and great supporters. [ + ]

Honourable mentions
Thanks to Griffin Marine for the launch as we took Womble for testing on the Norfolk Broards, and the well wishers I have encountered along the River Yare.
